The South Asian Community Health Task Force evolved from the voluntary efforts of the South Asian Covid 19 Task Force. This grassroots organization was created in November 2020 in direct response to the disproportionate numbers of South Asian Canadians affected adversely by the COVID-19 pandemic. A group of physicians, healthcare providers and community leaders of diverse backgrounds banded together from across the country to educate and advocate for the community and reduce spread of this virus.

 

Our mandate is to continue to highlight and address various community health issues in this population. We will continue to do this work in a culturally relevant manner by presenting evidence based health information through a variety of platforms.
